Description

PROTECT-A 020 2K is a polymer emulsion modified, cement based, dual component, crystallized waterproofing slurry resistant to negative and positive water pressure, sulphate, chlorine and chemicals.

Area of Use

Used as waterproofing material against leakages on interiors and exteriors of all structures particularly on water tanks, brine pools, foundations, curtain and basement walls, balconies, bathrooms, kitchens, toilets and private swimming pools.

Application Instructions

The substrate should be clean, damp, smooth and sound.
Dust, lime, paint residues, mould oils, etc. should be cleaned from application substrate using wire brush.
Major deformations and holes on the substrate should be repaired at least 24 hours before Protect 020 2K application.
Vertical and horizontal edges should be beveled to ensure continuity of waterproofing layer.
Porous substrates like concrete, cement based renders should be wetted with clean water and waited until the water layer disappears and leaves a damp substrate.
Ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +30°C.
Avoid application in extremely hot and/or damp weathers.
Should not be used on frozen or melting substrates, or substrates with the risk of rain or frost within 24 hours.
3 kg of Protect 020 2K liquid component should be added to 7.5-8.0 kg of mixing water and mixed with 25 kg of Protect 020 2K powder component using a low-speed mixer to a homogenous consistency for 2-3 minutes in a clean container.
Protect 020 2K is applied on the entire substrate at least in 2 coats using brush or trowel.
Application of each coat should be perpendicular to the previous one.
Wait at least 7 hours between coats.
If previous coat application is made 14 hours or before the following coat, the substrate should be dampened again before the application.
rinking water tanks should be disinfected with hypochlorite solution at least 7 days after the application, washed using drinking water and then filled. This process should be repeated once a year.
